This cool-toned painting is part of a mini-collection of frog paintings, inspired by my childhood memories of catching frogs with my cousins in the summertime. This painting evolved from a larger painting, cut down to the perfect size, and while it was inspired by summer memories, it came out in winter tones. Purple water-lilies and light green lily pads almost look as if they are moving in the painting, contrasted by the darker waters in warm blues and purples. A single frog is centred on the painting, in a light wash of beautiful greens.
